About us
Police, Fines and Crime Prevention is a business unit of the Corporate Governance and Support group in the Department of Justice and Community Safety.
The Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) provides a range of government programs and services which focus on improving community safety, victim services, regulatory services and crime prevention, and building strong collaboration across the justice system.
DJCS oversees functions including: Aboriginal Justice, Victim Support, Justice Services, Family Violence, Justice Operations, Regional Services Network, Corrections, Youth Justice, Emergency Management, Police and Crime Prevention, Regulation, Corporate Services, Justice Coordination, and Workplace Safety Policy.
About the role
As the Business Support Officer, you will be responsible for:
- provide confidential administrative support across two high level senior executive offices, including diary and meeting management, email and travel arrangements
- assess and prioritise a high volume of briefs and correspondence and take appropriate follow up action
- proofread and process briefs and correspondence in an accurate and timely manner
- work collaboratively with the Office of the Secretary, Strategic Advisers, Executive Officers and other staff to ensure that the Deputy Secretaries are well supported, informed and briefed in a timely manner.
About you
As the Business Support Officer, you will possess:
- experience in providing support and assistance to senior managers, ideally within a large complex organisation
- experience in supervising resource use for a team, distributing resources according to need and addressing resource issues
- a strong background in service excellence, especially in the delivery of services that are of superior quality.
