Geelong and surrounds

The possibilities are endless in Victoria’s picturesque Barwon region. Geelong, the largest city in the region and Victoria's second largest city is located on Corio Bay and is only a short drive from popular beach-front communities.

The famous Great Ocean Road begins just south of Geelong at Torquay and passes through scenic coastal haunts like Lorne, Apollo Bay and Aireys Inlet. The Barwon region really is your entry to the good life – visit historic streetscapes, explore the thriving foodie scene or head to the nearby bay and beaches for a surf or swim.
Visitors to Greater Geelong can take in the National Wool Museum, the Old Geelong Gaol, the Botanic Gardens at Eastern Park, and a number of other museums, galleries and historical buildings.

Otherwise, take a walk down Pakington Street in Geelong West and enjoy the diverse restaurants and cafes in the area. Pakington Street is also the location of Geelong's annual multicultural event - Pako Festa.

In the Barwon region, the sport, leisure and cultural pursuits are plentiful, while education and health options are world-class.

Less than an hour from Melbourne via car or train, Greater Geelong offers a range of lifestyle options – take your pick from inner city, coastal, suburban, rural, or bay side living.

Given its proximity to metropolitan Melbourne, the Barwon region enjoys all the advantages of city living without the congestion, plus the bonus of natural landscapes and beaches on your doorstep.
