inTouch Multicultural Centre Against Family Violence (inTouch) provides person-centred, integrated and culturally responsive family violence services to people from migrant and refugee communities across Victoria. We have assisted over 20,000 women and children experiencing family violence throughout our 39 years of operation, providing a holistic service that centres the experiences of victim-survivors in everything we do.
inTouch works across the family violence continuum, providing culturally informed early intervention, case management, programs for men who use violence, legal advice, crisis recovery and enhanced capacity-building across the sector and community. ABOUT THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
The Family Violence Practitioner (Case Manager) must have the skills and technical expertise to work with a degree of autonomy, exercising initiative and judgement to support and manage clients experiencing family violence through the life cycle of the client’s engagement with inTouch. They will assess, monitor, plan and manage cases, as well as advocate for and link women who are experiencing family violence to appropriate services. They will work closely with staff from other agencies to ensure the clients’ needs can be addressed in an integrated and coordinated manner.
A high level of proficiency in spoken fluency and writing skills in a language other than English is essential. We are currently looking for case managers who speak Arabic, Tamil, Singhalese and Thai.

While the majority of casework is done by phone, the Practitioner is required to travel and provide face to face support and/or outreach as required.

The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at Family Life to deliver a new innovative pilot working with men using family violence.
The program provides specialist family violence responses that utilise strength-based and trauma-informed approaches to support behavioural change in Adults Using Family Violence (AUFV). This includes bespoke group work and individual psychotherapy sessions.
The service will be delivered face-to-face at our Frankston or Sandringham sites with capacity to provide individual sessions online when required.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Co-facilitating bespoke Men’s Behaviour Change groups, including after-hours group facilitation.
- Providing individual psychotherapy sessions.
- Conducting on-going risk assessments and developing safety plans to mitigate risk and ensure safety.
- Ensuring that the needs and safety of the families take priority at all times.
- Delivering services to quality standards, complying with relevant legislation and contractual requirements.
- Maintaining professional documentation and administrative systems according to program and legislative requirements, including planning and documentation of group and education programs.
- Attending regular reflective practice groups, which explores the role privilege plays with particular reference to sexism across the Family Violence and Family Services sector.
- Conducting professional intake and assessment for men who have used family violence.
- Assisting the Program Coordinator with data collection for pilot evaluation.
- Other duties as directed by the program supervisor or Practice and Development Lead.
Our Ideal Candidate
You are Bachelor qualified in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Family Therapy or a related field and have significant experience co-facilitating Men’s Behaviour Change Programs. You have a sound knowledge of the complexities of family violence and working with Adults Using Family Violence (AUFV) and have the proven ability to coordinate and oversee a case-load of AUFV. You have a passion for delivering psychotherapy in a one on one capacity. The Opportunity
The Northern Specialist Family Violence Service (NSFVS) is the lead provider for the integrated family violence service system in the Northern Metropolitan sub-region. The service aims to support victim survivors and their children to remain safely within their community and maintain a life free of violence while also addressing the emotional and practical needs and issues arising from the violence.
NSFVS provides a Specialist Family Violence team within The Support and Safety Hub (also known as The Orange Door) in the Hume Merri-Bek Area (HMA) as per Recommendations 37 and 38 of the Royal Commission into Family Violence.
NSFVS operates within a collaborative and supportive team environment with a strong focus on partnerships with relevant external organisations.
Key Responsibilities
The Specialist Family Violence Hub Practitioner plays a critical role in family violence risk assessment, safety planning and engagement of women and children into any supports they need. The referrals are a combination of police referred, women calling our service directly, or referrals from other services. The service can be provided by contacting women by phone, face to face at the Hub, or conducting outreach appointments.
About You
- A minimum Bachelor level qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Welfare or related.
- Experience working with victim survivors and their children.
- Experience in comprehensive risk assessments
- An understanding of the Child, Youth and Families Act 2007 and the Family Violence Protection Act 2008.

The Role
We have an exciting opportunity in our Sexual Assault and Therapeutic Services Team for a Counsellor/Advocate - Sexual Assault located in Mildura, Victoria.
In this role you will therapeutically support adults, young people and children who have experienced sexual assault, as well as their non-offending family members.
Key responsibilities for these roles include:
- Deliver high quality, inclusive and flexible counselling, advocacy and/or therapeutic support including client engagement, intake and assessment, case planning, intervention, review and case closure to victim survivors of sexual assault.
- Engage with victim survivors and their families to deliver ‘evidence based’ person directed support.
- Support victim survivors to identify and implement short and long term goals through effective case planning.
- Uphold the values of respect, integrity, collaboration, care, accountability and innovation.
- Follow current standards of practice and legislation relevant to the role.
- From time to time you will be responsible for recall and perform the intake function.
What you will need to succeed
The successful candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or the equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience delivering trauma informed case management or counselling to victim survivors.
- High level interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with and build trusting therapeutic relationships with people.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work as part of a team, and autonomously.
- Experience with working in collaboration with other services to ensure integrated care for the victim survivor.

- Being a member of the leadership team supporting operationalising SECASA strategic direction to ensure the therapeutic needs of this client group are met.

The South Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence (SECASA), is a program of Monash Health and has the responsibility in the Southern Region of the Department of Families Fairness and Housing to:
- Develop and provide effective services to adult victim/survivors and associated people affected by sexual assault and family violence.
- Develop and provide effective services for adolescents exhibiting sexually harmful behaviours.
- Provide public education and professional training on sexual assault and anti-violence issues.
- Social planning and processes related to reducing societal violence.
About You
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
- Demonstrated clinical experience working with and responding to complex trauma related to sexual assault and/or family violence.
- A willingness to receive evidence-based training in modalities recommended for treating trauma and to apply professional development to you work with SECASA clients
- Crisis intervention skills necessary for supporting people who have experienced sexual assault and/or family violence.
- Collaboratively work with other professionals and agencies to enhance wellbeing and safety for clients.
Mandatory requirements of the role:
Social Work
- An Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) accredited Bachelor Degree or entry level Master’s Degree of Social Work that provides eligibility for membership of the AASW
- Written evidence of eligibility of AASW membership for overseas qualifications
- Extensive experience as a qualified social worker
- Accredited Social Worker: As approved by the AASW
- Completion of a post-graduate qualification in a relevant field or working towards such a qualification
OR
Psychology
- Current general registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) AHPRA
- Significant experience as a generally registered psychologist
- Having or working towards supervisor endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA)

About CASA House
Located in the heart of Melbourne, the Centre Against Sexual Assault (CASA House) is a department of the Royal Women's Hospital. CASA House works with people of all genders (including providing support to trans and gender diverse people and non-binary people and communities) and provides 24-hour services to victim survivors of sexual assault, including immediate crisis care, counselling, support, and advocacy, after-hours crisis response, support groups, and support for non-offending family members and friends. CASA House also provides secondary consultation, education and training as well as research and advocacy into public policy.

About the role
The Counsellor Advocate role is primarily responsible for the provision of counselling and advocacy services to victim survivors of sexual assault, their non-offending family members and significant others. The Counsellor Advocate also has a role in the provision of consultation and training to other professionals, including delivery of community education. All services are delivered within a clearly articulated intersectional feminist, rights advocacy, violence and trauma-informed practice framework.

he Mallee Sexual Assault Unit (MSAU) and Mallee Domestic Violence Services (MDVS) provides services for women, men and children throughout the Northern and Southern Mallee region, border communities of New South Wales, the Mallee Track and Shires of Gannawarra and Buloke. Our services are free and available to all victim survivors.
The Role
We have some exciting new opportunities in our Sexual Assault and Therapeutic Services Team for 2 Counsellor/Advocate – Harmful Sexual Behaviours positions located in Mildura, Victoria.
In this role you will therapeutically support children and young people who are engaging in harmful sexual behaviours and their families. Working with them to stop the behaviours, and reestablish age and stage appropriate behaviours.
Being a part of the Sexual Assault Team, you will also provide therapeutic support to people who have experienced sexual violence.
Key responsibilities for these roles include:
- Deliver high quality, inclusive and flexible counselling, advocacy and/or therapeutic support including client engagement, intake and assessment, case planning, intervention, review and case closure to children and young people engaging in harmful sexual behaviours and their families, as well as victim survivors of sexual assault.
- Engage with children, young people and their families to deliver ‘evidence based’ person-directed support.
- Support children and young people engaging in harmful sexual behaviours and their families to identify and implement short and long term goals.
- Uphold the values of respect, integrity, collaboration, care, accountability and innovation.
- Follow current standards of practice and legislation relevant to the role.
What you will need to succeed
The successful candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or the equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience delivering trauma informed case management or counselling to victim survivors and/or children and young people engaging in harmful sexual behaviours.
- High level interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with and build trusting therapeutic relationships with people.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work as part of a team, and autonomously.
- Experience with working in collaboration with other services to ensure integrated care for the children, young people and their families.

About the role
This cadetship aims to provide an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander social work student with a hands-on opportunity to learn about supporting and advocating for victim-survivors of sexual assault. It will increase confidence and knowledge in clinical practice settings, and develop work readiness skills. This role will work as a part of the CASA House intake & crisis response team and support other parts of the CASA House team, including the CASA House office manager.
A regular day will see you:
- Respond to calls on the intake and crisis phone lines and monitor the intake email inbox
- Provide information regarding CASA House's services, supports, options and waiting lists
- Complete intake assessments
About you
This role is ideal for a Victorian Social Work student in pre-qualifying study. This role is an opportunity for a student of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent and is accepted by the Victorian Aboriginal community as such.

The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at Frankston’s Family Relationship Centre in the role of Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP). This is a permanent part-time role working 9 days per fortnight. The FDRP delivers Family Life’s integrated model of Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) including Property Mediation and Family Relationship Services for parents, children and their extended families who need support due to relationship challenges such as separation and divorce.
Key Responsibility Areas
The key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conducting professional intake, assessment, referrals and case noting.
- Facilitating/co-facilitating FRC groups online and in person.
- Providing FDR, Property Mediation, Child Inclusive sessions and case coordination services to families online and in person.
- Ensure that the needs and safety of the families take priority at all times.
- Conduct ongoing risk assessments and develop safety plans to mitigate risk and ensure safety.
- Delivering services to quality standards, complying with relevant legislation and contractual requirements.
- Participating in regular supervision and reflective practice groups.
Our Ideal Candidate
You are degree qualified in Social Work, Law, Psychology, Counselling or a related field and eligible to register as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with the Attorney General's Department.
In addition to a working knowledge of the complexities of Family Violence, you have experience working with family separation and family law issues.
You have experience in undertaking intake and assessment and working effectively with parents who have experienced high levels of conflict. You have strong skills working with and understanding the developmental needs of children who have experienced trauma and abuse.
You have the ability to maintain professional boundaries, documentation and administrative systems including planning and documentation of group and community education programs. As a team player, you are familiar with working within a multidisciplinary team to provide a high level of performance and innovation, preferably relating to Family Relationship/Family Support areas.
Additional postgraduate qualifications and training in areas such as counselling, family therapy, child inclusive practice, and property mediation will be highly regarded.

THE ROLE
Working as part of a dynamic team, the family violence support worker assists the work of Case Managers and Children and Young People’s Practitioners to implement goals and meet needs identified in client plans. The support worker has the primary responsibility to assist in the co-ordination and delivery of practical supports and linking to community resources for Refuge Victoria clients. The role supports the day-to-day operation of the refuge sites including property readiness for clients, managing queries and general support tasks as directed by Team Leader or Refuge Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
- Completing comprehensive intake and induction to clients on arrival and orientation to local area and available services
- Assist with the coordination and access to a range of community services and supports to meet needs identified in client case plans, e.g. Childcare, relocations, shopping
- General practical and emotional support to clients, inclusive of client transport to appointments i.e. dental, medical, Centrelink, childcare, bank, maternal health
- Provide an after-hours response to the women and children onsite when required
- Update and maintain client information and other relevant support material
- Attending client meetings with woman’s case worker and children’s worker to assist with implementation of case plan goals, to prioritise tasks and to share and escalate safety or risk concerns identified or reported
- Preparation of accommodation and maintenance jobs/reporting for refuges, this can include cleaning, laundry, sorting of donations and ordering/managing supplies in office and pantry
- Manage office calendars for room hire and vehicle/equipment use and email inbox
- Liaise and develop effective working relationships with agencies and key stakeholders
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Experience working in the Family Violence sector
- Diploma in Community Services or equivalent would be well regarded
- Case or support work experience with skills working with families, mental health, disability and/or alcohol and drug issues
- Working towards a Bachelor of Social Work or other equivalent qualification as per mandatory minimum education requirements – Recommendation 209
- Experience in delivery of services responding to women and children facing Family Violence
- Knowledge of the MARAM (Multi Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework)
- This role will be rostered for a variety of shifts including weekdays, weekends, nights and sleepovers as per the SCHADS award.
- Highly developed organisational skills and ability to prioritize competing demands

About the role
The role provides 1:1 trauma-informed assessment and counselling to Aboriginal women, children and their families who are impacted and/or have experienced family violence. The therapist will:
- Deliver 1:1 therapeutic Counselling Program
- Undertake intake and assessment;
- Develop a family violence healing plan – identifying risks and strategies.
- Support the client with regular review touchpoints .
- Engage with clients both in-service and home-based visits.
- Support individual Aboriginal women, children, adolescents and their family through their individual healing journeys by creating or rebuilding strong positive connections between participants and their culture, land, family and community.
- Co-deliver Culturally therapeutic Family Violence Group Programs
- Co-Develop group programs that are provided in a culturally safe place allowing individuals to build trust, yarn up, open up in their own time and heal through the use of therapeutic interventions.
About you
- A Bachelors qualification in social work, psychology ,counselling, family therapy or a related discipline along with demonstrated experience or willingness to work toward the qualification in line with the mandatory minimum qualifications policy
- Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose
- Understanding the issues of family violence and the impact on women, children and families in an Aboriginal context
- A comprehensive understanding of the dynamics and impact of family violence in Aboriginal families
- A demonstrated ability to work therapeutically and sensitively in a range of healing interventions with Aboriginal women, children, adolescents and families who are impacted and/or have experienced family violence
- Substantial and relevant experience working across Family Violence, Child and Family Welfare Services and the Aboriginal sector.
- Ability to prepare accurate documents and reports e.g. case notes, incident reports, work reports that meet audience needs
- Requirement: Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Drivers License.
